Every new year, new plans and systems begin to fall into place in all of our lives. Perhaps, like many others, you’ve decided this is the time to go back to work, or look for a way to bring a little bit more money into your household. For these reasons, you may be looking into a nanny or an au pair to come and live in your home and look after your children, or maybe you’re looking to rent your spare room out and have a lodger live in your home, too. This is a big event; whoever is spending this much time in your home will essentially become a part of your family. They will be spending a lot of time with you, your children, and whoever else lives in your home, and become a part of your private environment. As this is the place you should always feel totally comfortable, safe and secure, it’s important that this person fits the bill. If someone is spending so much time in your family home and becoming so closely entwined in your life, you want to be certain that they can be totally trusted. Of course, more often than not there is nothing to worry about – the person will be great and an excellent addition to your home, you’ll love having them around and there will be no issues. However; it is always better to be safe than sorry.
